EEG & fNIRS | g.tec medical engineering GmbH

g.Nautilus RESEARCH and g.Nautilus MULTI-PURPOSE in combination with g.SENSOR fNIRS enable simultaneous recordings of EEG and fNIRS (functional near-infrared spectroscopy) signals. In combination with g.tec’s active EEG electrode technology, researchers get top-quality EEG recordings from 64/32/16/8 g.SCARABEO EEG channels and 8 fNIRS channels within a few minutes.

g.Nautilus PRO FLEXIBLE allows you to plug-in electrode strands with g.SAHARA hybrid EEG electrodes or g.SCARABEO wet EEG electrodes and g.SENSOR fNIRS adds 8 fNIRS channels. Simply pick an electrode strand best suited for your appliation. The different electrode strands hold 8/16/19/32 EEG electrodes. Additional Safety Connectors allow you to plug in different types of body sensors.

g.SENSOR fNIRS with 8 optodes can be inserted into the optode holders of g.GAMMAcap fNIRS. The cap has one set of optode holders on the frontal cortex and another set of optode holders over the sensorimotor cortex. The device comes with low-power optodes for the frontal cortex and high-power optodes for the sensorimotor cortex.

g.GAMMAcap fNIRS perfectly works for mounting g.SENSOR fNIRS together with g.SCARABEO electrodes or g.SAHARA hybrid electrodes. g.SENSOR fNIRS can be attached with a magnet holder to g.Nautilus and the optodes can be inserted into pre-defined positions over the sensorimotor-cortex and/or frontal cortex.

COMBINED EEG AND FNIRS RECORDINGS

g.tec has the ideal solution for combined EEG and fNIRS recordings: You can choose between several EEG and biosignal amplifiers, active wet or hybrid dry EEG electrodes, different sizes of EEG caps and a software solution to quickly set up your neuroscience experiment. Use g.tec’s biosignal amplifiers or wearable EEG headsets such as g.HIamp, g.USBampg.Nautilus  PRO Flexible, g.Nautilus Multi-Purpose, g.Nautilus PRO or g.Nautilus RESEARCH to measure high-quality EEG signals together with the fNIRS signals. The EEG electrodes and the fNIRS optodes are assembled together in one EEG cap to have well defined positions and proper contact to the scalp.

g.Nautilus, g.USBamp and g.HIamp can all be used with the NIRSport2 system. The g.GAMMAcap is available with 8/16/32/64 EEG channels with g.SCARABEO electrode holder rings that allow you to insert g.SCARABEO electrodes into certain positions. Additionally, the g.GAMMAcap has 32 NIRx optode holders to assemble 16 sources and 16 detectors on the left and right sensorimotor cortex. NIRSport2 is available with 8 sources and 8 detectors as well. The fNIRS cables are fixed with a velcro on the back of the g.GAMMAcap and are connected to the NIRSport2 system. Both the EEG data and the fNIRS data are transmitted to the same computer and are precisely synchronized with triggers if two data streams are handled or both are streamed into one synchronized data set using g.HIsys Professional.

Select the g.Nautilus Research, g.Nautilus Multi-Purpose or the g.Nautilus PRO flexible togther with NIRSport2 to get a fully portable and wireless solution. If you need higher sampling frequencies or more EEG channels for the EEG, select g.HIamp and g.USBamp.
