The Unicorn BCI Core-8 is a 24-bit and 8 channel EEG and BCI device that attaches magnetically to various base stations. Through the base station, you can configure the device for different types of recordings on humans, dogs, horses, or any other subjects you have in mind. The base station comes with different electrode types, making it highly versatile. Gold cup electrodes are lightweight and compact, making them ideal for sleep recordings or for easy placement in the fur of animals. The g.SAHARA Hybrid electrodes, featuring eight pins, allow for both dry and wet recordings depending on the needs of your experiment. The pins are long enough to penetrate through layers of hair.

The Unicorn BCI Core-8 can be purchased with either a 250 Hz or 1000 Hz sampling rate. The 250 Hz option is primarily used for EEG applications, while the 1000 Hz option is suited for ECG or EMG applications. The device streams data into g.HIsys for real-time processing, data visualization, and data storage. g.HIsys is a rapid prototyping environment that enables quick setup of new experiments, depending on the requirements of your study.

EEG MEASUREMENTS IN HUMANS

The Unicorn BCI Core-8 device attaches to the Unicorn cap with a magnetic base station, allowing the electrodes to be positioned at eight locations. The device is mounted at the back of the head, with cables long enough to reach frontal, central, occipital, and parietal regions. It works with g.SAHARA Hybrid electrodes, enabling both dry and wet EEG recording, depending on the application. For cleaning, the device can be easily removed from the cap.

SNAP-IN 8 CHANNEL EEG AMPLIFIER

The Unicorn BCI Core-8 is a high-precision data acquisition unit that captures data from 8 EEG channels at 24-bit resolution and transmits it via Bluetooth 5 for seamless connectivity. The Unicorn BCI Core Base connects the Unicorn BCI Core-8 amplifier to the base station and electrodes, ensuring stable signal transmission. It also functions as the power control unit, allowing the device to be turned on and off effortlessly.

HYBRID EEG ELECTRODES

The Unicorn Hybrid EEG Electrodes are made of a conductive material that allows you to record dry or with gel. Dry recordings are fast to setup. For better performance, conductive gel can be applied. Uncorn Hybrid EEG Electrodes provide a high flexibility and a practical solution for various EEG applications and contribute to the advancement of EEG technology.

The Hybrid EEG Electrodes are inserted into cap to hold them in to position over certain brain areas. We have caps for humans, horses and dogs in different sizes.

HYBRID EEG BASE STATION

The base station for Sahara hybrid EEG electrodes is attached with a magnetic holder to the cap. The hybrid electrodes are inserted into certain locations of the cap.

The Unicorn base station for gold cup electrodes is available with 4 or 8 channels, plus ground and reference. The Unicorn BCI Core-8 can be attached via the magnet to both of them. Therefore, you can just choose how many electrodes you wish to use for a certain application.

EMC TESTED COMPONENTS

Electromagnetic interference can produce distortions in the EEG data and can make huge parts of the recordings unusable. But even more importantly, electronic devices can produce interference to other products and this is completely unacceptable because it can endanger people. The Unicorn BCI Core-8 and all components are therefore EMC tested and follow the international normatives.
