The g.TACTILEbox is a vibro-tactile stimulation unit with seven stimulators. Up to three can be used in parallel. Each stimulation generates a trigger impulse which is used via a trigger cable and connected via digital outputs to digital inputs of a g.tec biosignal amplifier.
A cyan LED on the device indicates if stimulations is currently on. The same LED also indicates the status of the device. The g.TACTILEbox can be controlled via g.HIsys Professional.

TESTING TACTILE AWARENESS
Tactile brain-computer interfaces are one of the efficient approaches for communicating with severely paralyzed individuals namely locked-in state (LIS) or completely locked-in state (CLIS) patients. By providing tactile stimulation, g.TACTILEbox can be used either for cognitive function assessment or for basic communication with these patients and help us in better understanding their condition.
TACTILE TRIGGERS AND COMMANDS
g.TACTILEbox can be used to test the tactile awareness of unresponsive patients by applying stimuli at different body positions. The patient is then asked to focus on a specific location, helping us to understand whether the patient has the ability to discriminate these stimuli or to follow commands.
TRIGGERS AT CUSTOMIZABLE TIMEPOINTS
Triggers are generated automatically and with the highest precision at the start of each stimulus. Simply connect the digital output of the box to the digital input of your g.tec biosignal amplifier to record the signals.
