g.SCARABEO electrodes are active EEG electrodes to record the best EEG possible. The small amplifier inside the electrode makes a huge difference in data quality and usability compared to passive electrodes. As a result, you will see much less artifacts in your EEG data. Also, no abrasion of the skin is required, the electrodes can be mounted quickly and the BCI performance is much higher. These facts have been proven over thousands of recordings. You never want to lose a second of EEG data by just using the wrong equipment.
g.SCARABEO electrodes have a small form factor to support high-density recordings. The electrode is inserted into a holder ring of the g.GAMMAcap EEG cap and can be easily removed and plugged into other positions to equip a cap for a certain experiment. Typically, the electrodes remain plugged in to minimize mistakes and to speed up electrode mounting. The g.SCARABEO electrodes with the holder rings can also be assembled on the body with adhesive washers for EMG, ECG or EOG recordings.

The g.SCARABEO EEG electrodes offer superior spatial and temporal resolution suitable for neuroscience investigations. The streamlined application process, affording the placement of 64 channels within approximately five minutes and facilitating the acquisition of artifact-free data, represents a significant enhancement in usability compared to alternative EEG systems. Timely electrode application is paramount to prevent subject fatigue prior to commencing the experiment.
Each individual EEG electrode incorporates an internal amplifier and a holder ring with a subdermal reservoir. This design feature ensures precise localization of g.GAMMAgel contacts on specific areas of the scalp, facilitating accurate recording and enabling extended recording durations without the need for reapplication.
The prevention of bridging between electrodes is crucial, as it mitigates the generation of spurious data during recording sessions, thereby preserving the integrity and validity of collected data.
The EEG cap can be mounted with active or passive g.LADYbird EEG electrodes, active g.SCARABEO EEG electrodes or active g.SAHARA Hybrid EEG electrodes. All types of active and passive electrodes can be changed or replaced if necessary. The caps can be used with a chest belt strap or with chin straps, which are supplied with each cap. You can configure the cap with an electrode montage for a certain experiment (such as the P300 speller), and the electrodes remain inside the cap even during cleaning. This makes preparation and cleaning very fast, which speeds up experiments considerably. A typical setup time for a P300 speller experiment (10 electrodes) is about 2 minutes – just put on the cap and inject the gel. After the cap is removed, the EEG gel almost disappears after some time, and gel is removed completely by washing the hair.
g.GAMMAcap is an EEG cap designed for maximum comfort with minimal mounting time. The fabric used for this g.GAMMAcap is very flexible, but robust. 74 labeled standard positions (based on the extended 10-20 system / 10-10 system) and 86 additional intermediate positions are precut for easy placement. This makes it easy to configure caps for certain experiments (e.g. P300 speller, SSVEP robot control, high-density brain mapping, etc.).
g.GAMMAcap fNIRS is an EEG cap that allows you to mount up to 8 fNIRS optodes. g.SENSOR fNIRS can be attached with a magnet to the cap and the optodes can be inserted into pre-defined positions over the sensorimotor-cortex and/or frontal cortex.

It is designed to make experimental setups for EEG/ECG/EMG/EOG recording fast and easy, and of highest quality.
The g.GAMMAclip contains an amplifier inside and allows you to attach disposable EMG/ECG electrodes for high quality recordings. The active electrode system greatly reduces noise produced by movements and interference with other devices, and thereby provides very high-quality data, even in challenging usage situations. Especially in hospital environments the system delivers very clean data. You will never use a passive electrode system again!
