Access your brain with Unicorn Hybrid Black, your high-quality EEG headset by g.tec medical engineering. The wearable EEG headset delivers high-quality EEG data from 8 Unicorn Hybrid EEG Electrodes, sampled with 24 Bit and 250 Hz per channel. Developers, artists and engineers are able to acquire and process brain signals, ranging from simple display of the signals, to design and control attached devices or interact e.g. with artistic installations, toys, computer programs or applications.

NIRx: Combine NIRSport2 system with g.tec’s biosignal amplifiers and EEG headsets
Select the g.Nautilus Research, g.Nautilus Multi-Purpose or the g.Nautilus PRO Flexible togther with NIRSport2 to get a fully portable and wireless solution. If you need higher sampling frequencies or more EEG channels for the EEG, select g.HIamp and g.USBamp. g.tec’s EEG caps can be mounted with 8/16/32/64 EEG channels that allow you to insert g.SCARABEO electrodes into certain positions. Add 32 NIRx optode holders to assemble 16 sources and 16 detectors on the left and right sensorimotor cortex. NIRSport2 is available with 8 sources and 8 detectors as well. A neuromodulation platform typically encompasses three essential functionalities:
- Real-time controlled electrical stimulation of the brain
- Brain signal sensing and interpretation
- Programmatic switching of stimulation signals to dedicated brain regions
g.tec’s neuromodulation setup addresses the technical requirements outlined earlier. It consists of three primary hardware components: a cortical stimulator (g.Estim PRO) that generates bipolar electrical stimulation, a biosignal amplifier (g.HIamp) for recording brain signals at the highest quality, and a Switching Unit that programmatically routes stimulation signals to dedicated electrodes while allowing the recording of signals from other electrodes. All hardware components are clinically certified to relevant standards.

Understanding how the brain works is really important. One way to do this is by mapping the brain’s activity with electroencephalography (EEG). It’s easy, cheap, and doesn’t involve surgery. In our latest publication, we wanted to see if we could make brain mapping even better by using a new type of EEG system called g.Pangolin ultra-high-density EEG (uHD EEG). This system has more sensors and therefore a higher resolution than traditional EEG systems, which means we can get more detailed information about the brain.
