g.tec's BCI WORKSHOP

when: May 15, 2008 from 11:00 a.m.

where: Pisa, Italy

what: Brain-Computer Interface Workshop

General information

The direct connection between the human brain and a computer, a so-called Brain-Computer Interface (BCI), is what research groups all over the world are working on feverishly and successfully. A brain-computer interface translates brain waves into control signals. First demonstrations have already been realised: tetraplegic patients control hand prostheses, completely paralyzed persons write letters to their relatives again and they do it all with the power of their thoughts.

The Workshop will also include a BCI application life experiment, using a EEG electrode cap, how to mount EEG electrodes .

We invite you to our BCI Workshop on 15th of May 2008. This workshop should give you the chance to create your own BCI experiments and to learn more about g.tec's hard- and software products.

Main topics

* The EEG, non-invasive monitoring of brain activity
* Different BCI approaches
* Navigation with the BCI in VR
* Off-line and on-line analysis tools for brain-computer interfaces
