Pocket PC recording software

The Pocket PC recording software is available for g.MOBIlab+. The system displays the acquired data on the screen for visual control and stores the data to a flash memory on the Pocket PC. Each channel is sampled with 256 Hz. Using a memory of 256 MB allows to acquire and store 8 channels of data for 17 h. With the 1GB storage it is possible to record about 70 h of data.

In addition to the data acquisition module, g.MOBIlab+ offers paradigms used in biofeedback applications or for reaction time testing. g.MOBIlab+ features also brain-computer interface experiments.

The optional GPS module enables to record also the actual location of the subject/coordinates simultaneously to the biosignal data. This allows to track biosignal variations according to your position and has its application e.g. in mountaineering. Depending on the height, variations in the ECG and EEG can be logged. In telemedicine applications a GSM or WLAN module can be used to send the biomedical data directly to the doctor or hospital.

Data Acquisition on the Pocket PC

Click on the Select Channels icon to select specific channels for recording. The window shows the channel number, the channel type (EEG, EOG, DC, ECG, EMG, AI - Analog Input, DI/O - digital input/output, TRG - trigger, DO (int) – digital output with internal connection), the sensitivity and the cutoff-frequencies.

Channels

After pressing the play button the signal acquisition starts. g.MOBIlab+ samples the channels with 256 Hz and 16 Bit. The data is transmitted over the serial interface to the Pocket PC. Press the recording button to start the data streaming onto the storage card.

PocketPCScreen
Click on the Display icon to select the number of channels that should be shown on the screen. Enter the number into the Channels editor box or use the scroll buttons to change the value. This affects only the visualization and not the recording of the data.

The number of seconds shown on the screen is defined in Samples per Pixel.

The Rendering Type of the signals can be chosen between
Minimum – the smallest value is shown
Maximum – the highest value is shown
Mean – the mean of the values is shown
Median – the median of the values is shown

Filter allows to select a 50 Hz or 60 Hz Notch filter for suppressing the power line interference.

The number of seconds shown on the screen is defined in Samples per Pixel.
