g.tec Newsletter August 2009 Volume 25

This is the g.tec medical engineering electronic news bulletin. Articles provide tips, user reports and shortcuts for using g.tec's product family, as well as other technical, product, service and event information.

Products & Projects

s New development: The g.HEADstages

The g.HEADstage allows the recording of action potentials with 8 or 16 channels. g.tec now offers this development in 2 different types: The multi-pin and the golden-pin headstage.

s g.Recorder

With the updated g.Recorder new parameters could be computed now: compressed spectral array (CSA), heart-rate and heart-rate variability

s Rehabilitation Gaming System (RGS)

The RGS is a virtual reality (VR) based training device that provides new prospects for the rehabilitation of patients suffering from motor disabilities after stroke or brain injury.

News

point Place Cell recordings with g.USBamp and g.AnTS
g.tec developed a recording system to acquire in-vivo action potentials.  In this article we show how our hardware and software can be used to investigate place cell neurons in freely moving rats.

point  Biosignal Lectures

Two new Lectures about the electrocardiogram (ECG) and auditory steady-state responses (ASSR) & brainstem auditory evoked potentials (BAEP) are available.

s MATLAB

All the g.tec's software running under Matlab & Simulink environment is now successfully tested and running under R2009a and R2009b.

Workshops

s g.tec now offers two workshops:

1) Brain-Computer Interface: shows how to run P300, SSVEP and oscillatory BCI experiments.

2) NEW! Synthetic Foreager: shows hot perform spike acquisition and analysis, automation of experiment, tracking of animals and explains how physiology can be used to create better robots.
