g.GAMMAsys: Specs & Features

g.GAMMAsys was designed to make experimental setups for EEG/ECG/EMG/EOG recording fast and easy, while still using a comfortable cap that provides very high signal quality.
g.GAMMAsys is designed to work with all g.tec amplifiers. It includes different types of active and passive electrodes that can be mounted with the g.GAMMAcap onto the head for EEG recordings, or can be mounted on the body for ECG/EMG/EOG recordings. The g.GAMMAcap can be configured with electrodes for a certain experiment (such as the P300 speller), and the electrodes remain inside the cap even during cleaning.
This allows a very fast preparation and cleaning procedure, which speeds up experiments considerably. A typical setup time for a P300 speller experiment (10 electrodes) is about 2 minutes - just put on the cap and inject the gel. After the cap is removed, the gel almost disappears after some time.
New: g.GAMMAcap, the second generation: new optimized cut for perfect fit, new highly flexible super-narrow seams for high-density electrode placement, 74 labeled standard positions (10-10/extended 10-20 system) plus 86 additional intermediate positions, can now be used either with a chest belt set or with a chin strap that comes with each cap.
Size M fits most adult subjects, but a cap set includes sizes S, M and L.
New: g.GAMMAcapKIDS: new electrode cap for kids, 74 labeled standard positions (10-10/extended 10-20 system). Available in different sizes (MINI, MIDI, MAXI) and cap set.

g.GAMMAcap is designed for maximum comfort and fastest montage. The fabric used for this g.GAMMAcap is very flexible, but robust. 74 labeled standard positions (based on the extended 10-20 system / 10-10 system) and 86 additional intermediate positions are precut for easy placement. This makes it easy to configure caps for certain experiments (e.g. P300 speller, SSVEP robot control, high-density brain mapping, etc.). The gel is inserted through the hole in the middle of the electrode. All types of active and passive electrodes can be changed or replaced if necessary. The electrodes normally stay inside the cap and are also cleaned with the cap. This reduces the time needed to mount and wash the cap.
g.GAMMAcap is available in sizes:
small: head circumference 50 - 54 cm
medium: 54 - 58 cm
large: 58 - 62 cm
g.GAMMAcapKIDS is available in sizes:
mini: head circumference 32 - 36 cm
midi: 37 - 43 cm
maxi: 44 - 48 cm
Size M fits more than 95 % of adult subjects. Plain caps without labeling and cuts are also available. The caps can be used with a chest belt set or with chin straps, which are supplied with each cap.
g.GAMMAcap uses active or passive g.LADYbird electrodes and active g.SCARABEO electrodes. The active electrodes are mounted with g.GAMMAgel without abrasion. The passive electrodes are mounted with abrasive gel. Further the g.GAMMAcap can also be used with the active dry electrode system g.SAHARA, where no gel at all is necessary.
g.tec's active electrodes are equipped with a touch-proof 2-pin safety connector and are plugged into g.GAMMAbox(es). A special adapter cable connects the box to the amplifier inputs. The passive electrodes are directly connected to the biosignal amplifier. g.GAMMAbox provides inputs for up to 16 channels. g.EXTENSIONbox is used to add more channels (32, 48, 64,...). The extension box has no GND and no REF socket, as only one ground and one reference electrode is used with this system.
With g.USBamp, the active electrode system can be used with external sensors on isolated input blocks.
g.tec electrodes and NIRS
The g.SCARABEO active electrode is compatible with the Shimadzu NIRS system.
A special adapter allow you to mount the g.SCARABEO electrodes on the colored positions of the NIRS cap.
