g.FEATUREmonitor: Specs & Features

Online EEG and ECG parameter extraction for clinical research applications.

The g.FEATUREmonitor is a high performance biosignal recording system with the ability of online parameter extraction and comprehensive visualization of the results. Video data can be stored together with the biosignals and the computed parameters. The system is designed for long-term investigation and clinical research. It also allows storing the biosignal parameters without the raw data to save disk space.

The standard device is equipped with a g.USBamp (16 channels, 24 bit, 4 separated ground potentials, DC-coupled wide range inputs, sampling with up to 38,4 kHz). This amplifier is a CE and FDA approved medical device and can be used for EEG, ECoG, EMG, EOG, ECG and many other types of recordings.

The following parameters can be computed online:

CFM: Cerebral Function Monitor (amplitude integrated EEG (aEEG) with automatic classification of DLVP, DHVP, CVP, ISO, BSP, UDP)

CSA: Compressed Spectral Array (explorative analysis of signal properties and data quality for long-term recordings)

HR:  Heart Rate (based on automatic R-peak detection from the ECG raw signal)

HRV: Heart Rate Variability (HR and HRV parameters reflect the state of the autonomous nervous system)

Especially for neonatology, g.FEATUREmonitor is the first system that lets users investigate both brain activity (CFM, CSA) and heart activity (HR, HRV) on a fully equipped video-EEG system.

The recorded parameter patterns can be viewed offline together with the synchronized raw signals and video data for precise and detailed interpretation.

In many cases the time compressed output can be interpreted in a simple and effective manner even by non-experienced observers. g.FEATUREmonitor can be integrated very well into the ICU, interfering neither with the daily routines of patients care nor with therapeutic and diagnostic interventions.

High quality EEG and ECG recorder / video EEG

g.FEATUREmonitor is also a fully equipped digital EEG and ECG recorder. This allows to investigate the raw data online on the monitor and to display trends, reactivity and sleep cycles. In this way seizure activity can be identified which is not obvious in the aEEG. Additionally, statistical analysis can be made from the recorded data.

Multi-channel recordings

g.FEATUREmonitor is equipped with multiple EEG channels to investigate EEG asymmetries between right and left hemispheres, to detect focal seizures and to act as fully equipped EEG recording system.

Comprehensive graphical report

The physiological parameters are presented to the expert in a comprehensive manner. This makes the interpretation easier and allows to present several hours of the recording on a single sheet of paper. The report can be printed or sent to other experts via internet.

User-extensions

Due to its flexible design g.FEATUREmonitor can record other biosignals like EMG, EOG, respiration and many more. Parameter extraction algorithms can also be added to the system.
